Where do the artworks come from?
All images come from the public domain collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, loaded through the museum's free Collection API.
What is the difference between Daily and Unlimited mode?
In Daily mode every player gets the same artwork once per day. In Unlimited mode you can play as many random artworks as you like.
How many guesses do I get?
The default is 6 attempts. You can change it to 3 or 10 attempts in Settings.
Is my progress saved?
Yes. Your wins, games played and streak are stored locally in your browser. No account is needed and nothing is sent to a server.
How do hints work?
You can reveal up to four hints, one at a time: the period, the medium, the artist's nationality and years, and finally the first letter of the artist's name. Turn on Blur challenge in Settings for a harder game.
